Ways to Donate

Ways to Donate to School on WheelsSchool on Wheels depends on the generosity of donors like you to continue to provide tutors and mentors for homeless children. Here are just some of the ways you can help.

Financial donations provide direct and immediate support, usually in the form of cash (via credit card, check, or electronic transfer) or publicly traded securities. Your donation is secure and absolutely confidential. We do not, nor will we ever, share personal information. All donations are tax deductible.

If you prefer to donate offline, donations in the form of check or money orders can be sent directly to:

  • PayPal
  • Pledges
Pledges allow donors to make ongoing gifts over a period of months or years. Payment schedules are flexible. Monthly donations can be made online via credit card.
  • Planned Gifts and Bequests
If you’re considering making School on Wheels part of your trust, bequest, or endowment, please send an email to Catherine Meek at cmeek@schoolonwheels.org. A planned gift to School on Wheels ensures the continuation of our landmark tutoring programs and creates your own legacy of support.
  • Tributes and Memorial Gifts
Giving a gift in memory of a loved one or in honor of a birthday, anniversary, or special occasion is a distinctive way to pay tribute to someone while supporting School on Wheels. All memorial and honor gifts are acknowledged through a personal note sent by School on Wheels to the honored person(s).
  • Matching Employer Gifts
Many employers match their employees’ gifts to charitable institutions. Some companies will match the gifts of employee spouses and retired employees as well. Ask the human resources or benefits office at your workplace for more information. Find out if your company has a matching gifts program and ask your employer to support what we do.

More Ways to Donate

  • Be imaginative and donate in creative ways. For example, a hair stylist donated a day of cutting children’s hair at a shelter. We would love to have a clown make kids laugh at a shelter where they don’t laugh enough; or have a local personality inspire some of our kids; or a storyteller tell wonderful stories.  Have a backpack/school supply drive.  Or organize a fundraising party.
