Daniela with her tutor Tricia Daniela's essay: I am thankful for bieing born in this world and have wonderful perens. I get to hang around with my cousins and play rockband 2. I get to play skateboard. I am tanksful for my brothers and sisters. We laugh and have fun. We are nice to each other. I am tanksful for my perent because they tack me to places and buy me stuff. I am also thankful for my aunt because sleep over her house and let’s me play rockbankd and Ps3. And she also let me take the puppies for a walk. I am also tankful that I have a family that hangs around with me, especially my auntie and uncle. We go to the river and ride our motocycles and get wet with my cousins. When we went to the river, we also took our puppies and dogs. Then a snake a real one came out and it scared the dogs and us. Our perents were there to protec us. After the snake died we got a little boat with a raft and we swamed in the river and then my cousin gave me a ride on the motocycle. There was a big bump and small bumps. We were jumping and almost crashing into the bushes. There was a lots of sand and you had to go slow in the truck. Then I went to the beash and me and my cousin went to the deep and saw some jellyfishs coming kind of following us but we swamed away with our cousins. We went to the other one with big waves and we playd football in the water. I tripped and the big wave came a took me under the water.

Danielle with her tutor Cindy What I learned this year… By: Danielle Last year I did not do so well in anything. My grades were low and I barely had any friends but this year I hoped to do better and I did! This year I had the highest grades ever and I have tons of friends. This year I learned a lot of things but only a few I will tell to you. First I will tell you what I learned about friendship. Never be afraid to make a new friend Just be who you are and they will come to you. Example, I always wanted to be this one girls friend but I did not know what to say. I did not know what to act like either. Whether I should act cool or just me. I tried the cool one and she thought I was so weird but they I tried the part where I was just acting like me and now me and that same girl are best friends. Now I will tell you about what I learned in school. Always listen to your teacher. If you don’t I have some information for you! What would you like to be when you grow up? I bet it is something cool huh? A doctor, an actress or an artist huh? Or you thought of something cooler. Well I hope you weren’t thinking that you would get that job not listening to your teacher. Unless that job that you were thinking about was something like McDonald’s. The reason why I am telling you this is because you cant get a job like that unless you have a degree and you get a degree by listening to your teacher and going to school! I got you huh? I hope you liked this essay or even learned from it! I think there is a big difference in me that you can notice in this essay and the best part is that I actually want to learn more next year and do even better.

Isaiah and his tutor Navdeep Isaiah's Essay: My name is Isaiah, I have lots of friends at school and at home...I am 9 years old, my favorite color is blue. What I want to be when I grow up is a football player. I want to be a football player because you can run to the touchdown. I am good at football because I practice every Friday. I pay attention in class and never get in trouble. I am a very good friend because I never pick or fight with my friends. I am also a very good reader.

My Tutor Joy, by Angel.. I knew my tutor Joy last year. she is good in tutoring and she is nice. She shows me how to draw and do fun stuff. She helps do my homework. When we finish doing my work. we go check some books in the library, then I go home house and I wait again eight days so I can go again with my tutor Joy. I go again and do the same thing. One thing about me staying in that program is I like to do homework. And I like when Joy helps me do my homework. And when I am finish I know I won't get in trouble when I go to school. And I like to work in the program.

Trea's Essay Part of Trea's Essay... I am thankful that we have a black President. I am glad that he made history, that means I can be an African American President too. The election of 2008 was the greatest election yet. I am thankful for my tutor Baron. He teaches me new things every Tuesday I see him. He helps me with homework. He brings me treats and he doesn’t have to. I think that he is very generous. He says he is going to take me on a field trip. I am counting on that. When I finish with my homework we play board games. He said the field trip might be to the library or a museum. I am getting extra education even when I am out of school. He teaches me a lot. I am thankful for my shelter that I am in. At first I thought I was not going to like it here. I love it there. That place hooked me up with a tutor. They have nice staff. They give children presents. I never ever got that amount of presents in my life or no other Christmas time. I got about 5 presents from that shelter. ..When I walked into the shelter room they surprised me and my brother with presents on our beds. hey’re helping my mom get us a home……
